Recover your Microsoft Outlook Emails Using Inbox Repair Tool

Microsoft Outlook is one of the most widely used email clients by companies and individual users worldwide. Microsoft Outlook downloaded and saves your email messages and contacts in your local computer that can be viewed even offline unlike other email platform that you need an internet connection to view old messages.

There are instances that Microsoft Outlook data or the corrupt or damages due to some reasons like power interruptions, computer suddenly shuts down, hard disks failure, viruses and malware and many more that affects the Microsoft Outlook files.

One of the best options for these is to back-up your Microsoft Outlook files regularly encase these files corrupted you have a back-up to used back.

If your Microsoft Outlook files had already crashed down try to recover it using some recovery softwares that can be downloaded online for free and some on these  softwares you will need to pay some small amount to download it. But first try to repair it using scanpst.exe that included to the Microsoft Outlook installation files folder.

Here's how;


  1.  Run scanpst.exe to diagnose the Outlook.pst file. You can file the inbox repair tool in the following folder files.
  • disk drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICEnn
    • where nn is 10 for Office XP, 11 for Office 2003, 12 for the 2007 Office system, and 14 for Office 2010
  • disk drive:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\
  • disk drive:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033
    • Disk drive - stands for the hard disk where your Microsoft Outlook files being installed, most instances thie drive labeled local disk C


2.  Double click the scanpst.exe to open

3. Browse the .pst files, ussually from these locations
  • For windows XP: disk drive:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook 
  • For WIndows Vista and Windows 7: disk drive:\users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
    • Disk drive - stands for the hard disk where your Microsoft Outlook files being installed, most instances thie drive labeled local disk C
    • Usename - stands for the main user of the computer user account that uses the Microsoft Outlook, for example "Admin" or "Student"
    • These folders are usually a hidden folders so you will need to set your folders to Show hidden files
4. Click start to begin diagnose the Microsoft Outlook files and look for errors.

5. Click OK

6. Wait until it will finished scanning.

7. You will now see the damage folders for recovery.
