Enable Your Computer Registry Editor that has been disabled by a Malware and Viruses



Registry editor is one of the most important parts and tool in checking, organizing and changing your computer settings. Some malwares and viruses disable your access in your computer’s registry editor. Even you have an administrator privileges still you cannot access or open your computer registry editor. You can scan your computer using an antivirus so that you can delete the files created by a malware and virus and regain your access in your computer registry editor.

You can also regain your access in your registry editor manually by following these steps. These step only works in Windows XP;

1. Click on the your computer’s Start  Menu

2. Select Run

3. Type ”gpedit.msc” on the field (without quotes  “)

4. Navigate to folder > User Configuration >  Administrative Templates > System.

5. Look for the option “Prevent access to registry editing tools”

6. Click Disabled in the given Options

7. Click on the OK button to save settings.

8. Restart your computer to apply new settings.

9. To try if these steps works, type “regedit” run.
